Aconitum napellus ‘Bergfurst’

I absolutely love the blue tones that Aconitum ‘Bergfurst’ bring to a summer planting.  The individual flowers, which are somewhat reminiscent of ‘Monk’s Hoods’ are borne in towering spires.  Much like Delphiniums, but much easier to grow.  They are some of the most beautiful blooms in the summer garden.

flowering from July onwards, its branching habit minimises the need to stake.
