Allium senescens subsp. glaucum
We first saw Allium senescens subsp. glaucum used as an edging plant to the beautiful Dutch Kitchen Garden ‘De Boschhoeve’. It is better than chives as an edging plant because it is much neater in habit and doesn’t seed everywhere. Fabulous foliage that is greyish green and neatly curled round at the ends. The lovely little lilac globe shaped flowers appear in late Summer. Height 20cm and diameter 20cm. Thrives in a sunny position with reasonable drainage.
