Amsonia orientalis
Amsonia orientalis is a truly fabulous perennial. It takes a couple of years to establish, but once it does, large clumps of deep indigo buds emerge into clusters of blue starry shaped flowers from late May until Mid July (which is the longest flowering season of any of the amsonias we grow). Later on in late September into October the leaves turn a beautiful buttery yellow before dropping to the ground. Lovely to repeat throughout a border for both early to mid Summer and Autumn interest. Height 40-50cm. Sunny position.
