Camellia Oil

The Japanese choice for keeping tools protected and rust free. Camellia oil is made from the seeds of Camellia oleifera (same family as Camellia and tea). Use it when cleaning and as a regular protective coating. We first rub over our tools with water or a little camellia oil and Crean mate to get rid of residues of sap and gunk from the blade, before drying off, sharpening with the Niwaki Sharpening Stone and finally reapplying a little Camellia oil to create a thin protective coating. You can purchase an Oil dispenser to store an apply your Camellia Oil with precision.
