Campanula lactiflora ‘Assendon Pearl’

A superb form a Campanula lactiflora, which was spotted in the RHS trial.  Originally submitted as Campanula ‘Alba’, this form was deemed so good it was named and awarded with the ‘Award of Garden Merit’.

Campanula ‘Assendon Pearl’ has beautiful white flowers which emerge from violet coloured buds.  Flowering from June through to August, it is a cottage garden stalwart.

We find that this performs best in partial shade, sheltered from the mid day sun. Best grown on neutral to alkaline soil, it r thrives on our limestone bedrock.
