Gaura lindheimeri ‘Good Pink’

I love Gaura, I find them a dependable plant that thrives in our recent hot, dry summers.  However I often struggled to find a pink flowering form that I like.  All to often I find they have lost some of the grace of the species, being a little shorter and a little stiffer.

This form which we acquired from Marina Christopher is a pink form that I love.  Lovely rich pink flowers are borne above dark maroon foliage.

We cut all of our Gaura back by half at the start of winter, finding that the old stems supply some protection to the new shoots in spring.
