Nepeta badachschanica

Another one of those wonderful plant names that no one is quite sure how to pronounce.  This is a catmint like no other!  Native to Central Asia, and high altitudes, Nepeta badachshanica has flowers the colour of Bog Sage.  Borne on an stiffly upright plant, the leaves are almost heart shaped.  We have found that this species needs more moisture than some in the growing season and not to wet in the winter – sand bed?
