Panicum virgatum ‘Cloud Nine’

Panicum virgatum ‘Cloud Nine’ – is the latest cultivar we have added to our collection and is the tallest of the Switch grasses we grow – up to 2m in height and very upright in habit. It also seems to be later into flower than all the other cultivars, only just pushing up its panicles of flowers above the foliage in mid-late October. The flowers like the foliage are a pale grey green glaucous colouring. It is very attractive as a foil to other plants and changes in Autumn to a glorious golden yellow. It needs a sunny open spot and reasonable drainage.
