07/07/2026 ‘Sustainable Gardening – the Wildegoose Way’ with Jack and Laura Willgoss

A Day with Jack and Laura Willgoss – Tuesday 7th July – 10.30am to 3.30pm

The Garden at Wildegoose has been on a quite a journey over the past 13 years. From a derelict space with no trees, hedges, shrubs and a limited diversity of plants and habitats – we set about creating the garden of our dreams. Along the way the emphasis began to change – it was not just about beautiful plants and how we combined them, we became increasingly interested in the growing population of wildlife we were sharing the garden with. Climate change and biodiversity loss are upon us and our roles as the custodians of our small patches of land has never been more important. We will look in depth at how we manage the garden to create beauty but also a haven for nature. We will look at how we can garden more sustainably in terms of water management, and caring for our soils. Alongside this there will be a discussion on plant choice for a changing climate, creating habitats in our gardens and dispelling the myths around the greener gardening buzz words. Jack and Laura Willgoss were recently listed in the ‘House and Gardens’ magazine monthly feature on ‘Green Crusaders’ alongside the likes of Charles Dowding and Isabella Tree.

Course cost includes coffee and biscuits on arrival and a two course lunch.
