Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Karl Foerster’

Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Karl Foerster’ is perhaps one of the best known perennial grasses.  Deservedly popular, this fabulous grass is great for creating strong vertical accents through a border.  We have also seen Calamgarostis x acutiflora ‘Karl Foerster’ used to great affect as an alternative to a hedge.

Narrow purple grey flower spikes emerge in June, the whole plant then matures to pale straw yellow in late Summer.  Looks superb throughout much of winter. We shear ours back anytime from early January to late February.  180cm tall.
