18/06/2024 ‘A Day With Marina Christopher’

A Day with Marina Christopher – Tuesday 18th June – 10.30am to 3.30pm

We are delighted to be welcoming Marina Christopher to the garden for a second visit.  Marina has long been a source of inspiration to us at Wildegoose, ever since visiting her nursery, Phoenix Perennials, near Alton in Hampshire.  With a background in botany and ecology, Marina’s emphasis is to create a garden environment which offers a rich habitat to resident wildlife, with a special focus on insects.  That is not to say that Marina does not have an exceptional eye for a good plant, her stand at a plant fair is often stashed with treasures (most of which are richly coveted by fellow nurserymen before the gates open), and Marina often acts as a plants advisor and grower of choice for many top designers at the Chelsea Flower Show.

This study day will focus on sustainable gardening, looking at plant choices and combinations, our growing medium, watering and more widely at encouraging greater biodiversity in our gardens.

With Marina using plants as props and without the use of slides, a study day with Marina is an immersive experience which leaves the attendee brimming with a fresh outlook and a burgeoning list of new plants (or that’s how I always feel).  Marina will be bringing a selection of plants for sale on the day.

Course cost includes coffee and biscuits on arrival and a two course lunch.
