Ajuga reptans ‘Julia’

I always find it interesting how over time our plant tastes change.  For many years I would not have given Ajuga a second look and then suddenly I find myself drawn to them and their use in the garden.

Excellent for gentle ground cover, not behaving in a thugish way, but gradually covering bare soil and happily sitting alongside other bed fellows.  Ajuga reptans ‘Julia’ is grown for its distinct flower colours.  A rich pink, which is a break from the more commonly seen purple and mauves held above dark green flushed bronze foliage.

Excellent under trees and shrubs or at the front of the border.
