Crean Mate

Crean Mate is brilliant. It is essentially like a giant rubber to help keep your secateurs and other cutting implements clean, and prevent them getting clogged up with sticky sap and rust. We first rub over our tools with water or a little camellia oil and then use the Crean mate like a rubber over the blade to get rid of residues of sap and gunk, before drying off, sharpening with the Niwaki Sharpening Stone and finally reapplying a little Camellia oil to create a thin protective coating.
