Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’
Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ is a beautiful variegated form. Its tussocks of green ribbon like foliage are splashed with a bold yellow midrib. The foliage is brighter yellow in full sun and more of a lime green if planted in part shade. We have woven Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ though a border of acid greens, vibrant yellows and blues where it is very effective at knitting together a planting of other perennials. This is a deciduous grass that reaches a compact height of 40-50cm.
