Hylotelephium ‘Red Cauli’
When Hylotelephium ‘Red Cauli’ (syn. Sedum ‘Red Cauli’) is in flower in the garden there are few plants more commented on. A superb cultivar raised by Graham Gough of Marchant Hardy Plants. Glaucous dark red leaves are topped by glowing red flowers from mid-summer onwards. As with all sedum, it is simply adored by bees.
As for whether to Chelsea chop, many people swear by it. We are always too busy in late May to do it and so we divide our plants every few years to prevent them getting too top heavy.
