Lupinus from Kashmir
oh Lupins, the staple of the English Country Garden, with their stiff spikes of multicoloured flowers, all too often blighted by black fly and mildew, well not this one. An unknown species collected from Kashmir, we were given some seeds of this many years ago. A world away from the modern cultivars, this species produces masses of looser lilac and mauve flowers throughout early Summer. Dead head them and you will get a second flush, we leave the seed to ripen and they now seed freely around the garden. A superb plant for early season colour.
