Miscanthus sinensis ‘Beth Chatto’
Miscanthus sinensis ‘Beth Chatto’ came to us highly recommended by Graham Gough of Marchants Hardy Plants. We have to say we have not been disappointed. A wonderful Miscanthus which is one of the taller varieties that we grow, reaching approximately 1.8-2m. The silvery coloured flowers are borne in September, and best of all they keep their flowers well clear of the foliage unlike some cultivars which hide their flowers among the leaves (one of Jack’s pet hates with Miscanthus). Miscanthus sinensis ‘Beth Chatto’ is a more relaxed cultivar then some which can be a little stiff, making for a particularly relaxed and elegant plant We leave the plants in tact til late Winter, allowing us to enjoy the seeds heads throughout the winter months.
