Phlomis tuberosa ‘Amazone’

A much admired and particularly striking perennial plant.  Phlomis tuberosa ‘Amazone’ has handsome, toothed leaves which act as a backdrop to the flowers, which are the main event.  The flowers which are a beautiful dusky pink are borne in whorls up the stem.  The stem itself is a lovely rich reddish brown in colour and further enhances the flowers.

Phlomis tuberosa ‘Amazone’ has some of the most beautiful seed heads, which persist in the garden throughout the winter months.  A well behaved plant, which only slowly clumps up and never seeds around.

Phlomis tuberosa’ Amazone’ thrives in full sun and soil which is free draining.
