Sanguisorba tenuifolia ‘Purpurea’ (Tall Form)

This statuesque Sanguisorba is 2m in height and a mass of dark maroon thimble shaped flowers in July-August. It was originally from Graham Gough at Marchants Hardy Plants. We do have to stake it each year to avoid disaster but it makes such a wonderful backdrop to bolder flower shapes of Miscanthus sinensis ‘Gewitterwolke’ and the large decorative Dahlia ‘Rip City’ in our Garden.
