Agastache ‘Purple Haze’

Agastache are not a group of plants that one would expect to thrive in South Shropshire, wanting free draining soils and warm sunny conditions.  However there a number that thrive with us here and one such variety that we have grown for many years is Agastache ‘Purple Haze’.

With dusky purple flowers borne all summer long it is an absolute joy in the garden, thriving in periods of drought.  What is so wonderful about Agastache ‘Purple Haze’ is the gorgeous, dusky purple foliage which is highly aromatic.

Full sun and good drainage are imperative.  Agastache tend to come into growth fairly early on in the year, it is always worth checking for slugs early on as they can nibble off the new shoots.
