Cardamine waldsteinii (Large Flowered Form)

Cardamine are a wonderful genus of plants, with many wild species making excellent garden worthy plants. Cardamine waldstenii  is native to the Balkans and into Austria. This Spring flowerer forms spreading clumps of upright wiry stems topped with a mass of airy pure white flowers. The plants then retreat underground for the Summer, allowing neighbouring perennials room to spread out. They prefer humus rich soils that don’t dry out in sun or part shade.
