Iris ‘Holden Clough’

The moisture loving Iris such as the Japanese and Siberian types have thrived in the garden in recent years and are excellent for pond margins and heavy clay soils. Iris ‘Holden Clough’ has been clumping up beautifully in the garden and this is the first year we have divided it for sale. The flowers are a beautiful pale yellow intricately veined with purplish brown markings. Grow Iris ‘Holden Clough’ in a damp spot in sun or part shade with a lush underplanting of Hakonechloa macra. Pick up on the lilac purple flush to this yellow iris with Polemonium ‘Hopleys’, or Geranium phaem ‘Lily Lovell’ and a sprinkling of coppery orange Geums, such as ‘Hill top Beacon’ or ‘Totally Tangerine, for a winning early Summer combination.
