Monarda bradburyana

A wonderful species Monarda, native to Central and South Eastern United States of America.  Monarda bradburyana is a shorter growing species, reaching little more then 60cm with us.  Handsome dark purple foliage is topped by crowns of pink flushed white flowers.  The flowers have spink spots on.  The earliest of the Monardas to flower, from late May onwards.

As with all Monardas, they thrive in moisture retentive soil.  Mulch with well rotted manure or compost in Winter.
