Scabiosa columbaria ex. Hermannshoff

This is a wonderful form of the wild Scabiosa columbaria which came from the famous Hermmanshoff gardens in Weinheim.  Tall and lofty (it hasn’t been stunted by the plant breeders), it is a cloud of lilac purple scabious flowers throughout the Summer.  Adored by pollinators.  We have it planted with Achillea ‘Lansdorferglut’, Persicaria amplexicaulis ‘Orangefield’ and Veronica ‘Blue John’, for a favourite colour combination of coral orange and blue, lilac.
